Hope Is In The Heart of those who see a brighter day. Hope drives, motivates, and inspires. For the heart of a person determines the outcomes. Hope resides there to give rise to wholeness, fullness, and completeness.
Many will have the opportunity to express unity through joining the cause to fight cancer for all people. Terri Crawford was diagnosed with breast and lymph cancer in March 2012. Her diagnosis came after she did one simple thing - a personal breast exam.

Let's take a journey through cancer awareness.
Terri had an appointment in November 2011. She had a mammogram to determine her level of health. The mammogram did not show any health abnormality or was inclusive. Terri noticed a lump in her breast in December 2011. Thereafter, she made an appointment with her doctor. Her doctor agreed that there was a lump in her breast. We took an aggressive approach by making an appointment to see a specialist at Duke University Cancer Clinic.
Terri had several examinations. Some were long and painful. We were told in March of 2012 that she had breast cancer and cancer in the lymph nodes in her right arm. Terri's doctors recommended an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy, surgery, then radiation. After a few months of chemotherapy, we were informed on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, that the latest MRI showed no signs of cancer in Terri's breast. Terri's doctor was elated. Now, we enter the second phase of treatment. The test did not show visible signs of cancer, yet Terri still had tumors in her breast.
We were given our options for surgery. Terri will have surgery on Thursday, October 4, 2012. We will attack this with everything we have. Terri is a very strong woman of faith. We have never faltered through this entire process. We decided to take the approach "Hope Is In The Heart." Hope springs eternal. We know God, in the name of Jesus, has a purpose for everything, including Terri having cancer.
We will become more active in the fight to bring awareness to cancer research, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The first part of increasing awareness is for someone to agree to honor Terri by participating in the Women's Only 5K Walk & Run in Greensboro, NC.
The website for this event is:

We have one person who agreed to run on Terri's behalf. Terri really wanted to participate to honor her sisters living with cancer. Terri knows the value of early detection through self examinations and screening. Please take time to read the following information. Your support will save many women.
Women’s Only 5K Walk & Run
Last year alone, the Women’s Only 5K Walk & Run in Greensboro, NC raised more than $100,000 for the Mammography Scholarship Fund, which provides free, life-saving mammograms and follow-up care for women who are uninsured or lack the financial means to pay for the screening.According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women today and the leading cause of death in African-Americans at 34 percent. In 2010, for every 100,000 women in North Carolina, on average, approximately 122 were diagnosed with breast cancer.
